Dartmouth Skiway
The Dartmouth Skiway is a small ski area that primarily serves families and Dartmouth College students, with a strong focus on their race programs. It is a laid back ski area with a long legacy.
THE BRIEF
Make something cool.
Under new management, Dartmouth Skiway wanted to reenergize and reengage the mountain’s skiers. They needed a sticker design that could potentially grow into a more robust campaign in the future. It needed to break from their traditional brand and be, in their words, “just cool”.
Working with Ben Saunders of Shire Digital, we identified a commonly shared experience among skiers and riders at the the Skiway, sighting a black bear while exploring the slopes. The image of a ski-racing bear could grow into a mascot and be leveraged for merchandise and future campaigns.
Ski Racing Bear
A ski racing bear had the perfect amount of unexpectedness, while still connecting with the kids, college students and New Hampshire location.
We presented a collection of options for Dartmouth Skiway to consider. They too saw the possibilities in the ski racing bear.
Animals for the kids
The illustration style resonated well across the Skiway’s brand, so they had an additional request, to create a series of animal designs that corresponded with the animals names of their kid's groups programs.
